FROM THE PTO DESK...

A Message From the PTO President

If your house is anything like mine, the excitement level this month is high, and the house is filled with loud renditions of holiday concert songs. Everyone is so busy this month, so we try to make this a quiet month for the PTO. There is no meeting during December, but here are the few things happening:

  • Elves Workshop is this Thursday, December 8th. In order to attend, you must have paid for and ordered your crafts in advance.
  • Sportswear is supposed to be in December 9th, so you should have it in time for Winter Break.
  • K-3 Holiday Concerts are Wednesday, December 14th, at 9:15 a.m. and 1:15 p.m.

  • 4th & 5th Grade Holiday Concert is Tuesday, December 20th at 1:15 p.m.

We wish you and your family a very happy holiday season!

Megan Cromer
President, UE PTO

Thank You!

We would like to take a minute to thank those who helped with our November events and will be running our December events:

There are lots of moving parts in this operation, and we could not do it without our volunteers. And, if we missed anyone, please know we are thankful for all that you do.

To help make this event a success, we need volunteers to donate food and help with set-up and clean-up. Please click the link below to sign up:

Martin Luther King, Jr. Service Project: Coin Drive Update

The coins have been counted and, boy, did we raise a lot of money for our MLK Day of Service Project! Our UE students raised a grand total of $2,523.61!!! WOW! We cannot thank our families enough for making the coin drive such a huge success. And without further ado, the classes that raised the most coin were...

     3.   Ms. Lane's 4th grade class - $206.41

     2.   Mr. Peirce's 3rd grade class - $230.35

1. Ms. Johnson's 5th grade class - $393.56

Ms. Johnson's class will be receiving the grand prize pizza party, and Mr. Peirce's and Ms. Lane's classes will be enjoying popsicles to celebrate their achievements!

Special thanks to Mr. Peirce and Jackie and Brody Knight for giving up several hours last Saturday to take all of the coins to the bank to be counted.

We are working on planning the actual day of service itself now, so watch Star News for updates on ways to get involved as the day gets closer. We are hoping that we will have just as much participation in this project on the day of service as we had throughout the coin drive. Thanks again and job well done to everyone!

Potential Upcoming Events at UE

We are hoping to have the following events at UE in the future. If you are willing to help with any of the following, please e-mail uespto@ucfsd.net and specify which you would like to help get up and running:
