UCFSD Coat Drive Volunteers Needed

The district coat drive will conclude next week with the distribution of items at a holiday event for needy families in the area. Volunteers still are needed to fill various duties on both Friday December 14 and Saturday December 15.

The UCFSD Coat Drive  has provided nearly 500 area families with jackets, coats and hoodies each year for the past 10 years. The success of the drive depends solely on the generosity of the UCFSD community. Volunteers still are needed to help UHS students transport, prepare and distribute coats on December 14 and 15. There are several time slots--some of them for as few as two hours--for which volunteers are needed. High school students (volunteers must be 14 or older) receive community service hours. Please consider donating your time to help your neighbors.  Visit this link for information.

UCFSD would like to remind our drivers of the laws and safe practices to take when approaching a school bus.

Did you Know -

When you meet or overtake a stopped school bus with red signal lights flashing and stop arm     extended, you MUST STOP.

When you approach an intersection where a school bus is stopped with red signal lights flashing and stop arm extended, you MUST STOP.

You MUST STOP at least ten (10) feet away from the school bus.

You MUST WAIT until the red lights have stopped flashing and the stop arm has been withdrawn before moving.

DO NOT MOVE until all the children have reached a place of safety.

For more information on Pennsylvania's School Bus Stopping Law, including an animated graphic demonstrating when you must stop, visit www.penndot.gov/safety

UE Spirit Day THIS FRIDAY, December 7th!

School-wide PAJAMA DAY on Friday, December 21st!

An extra special THANK YOU to our beautification "Elves", Jackie Knight and Kristen Hamburg, for decorating our outdoor pots and our inside lobby to get us in the holiday spirit!

Thank you so much for your continued support for the School Store Program. This week, we distributed over $10,000 in gift cards to our very deserving teachers. We also are getting a check for over $700, that will go directly to the PTO, that we “earned" just by using their portal to get to our favorite stores to do the online shopping we were going to do anyway. This is free money to us!  This program is year long, so keep up the great work even after the holidays are over!

If your child did not receive prizes that they earned on their prize thermometer it may just be in the next shipment. We get prize and gift card deliveries each month. If you think there was a problem, don’t hesitate to contact Megan Cromer, at megcromer@hotmail.com
