UES Coin Drive for the Bagged Lunch Program

Our annual school-wide Coin Drive will take place this year the week of
February 19-22, 2013. This is the first phase of the Bagged Lunch
community service project.
Please send in your coins of any denomination that week. Every little bit
helps! There will be coin buckets in each classroom.

The 3rd grade classes will sort and tally the coins each day. STARS for
Service members from the 5th grade will assist them with this task. The
money collected will enable us to provide approximately 200 healthy
lunches for the homeless and less fortunate in our local area.

The second phase of the program takes place in May. The 4th and 5th grade
classes will assemble bagged lunches each Friday in the cafeteria. The
bagged lunches will be delivered to the Church of the Holy Trinity in West
Chester. Extra lunches will be donated to other shelters in the local
area.

Please remember to send in your spare change the week of February 19-22,
2013 with your UES students. In April, we will be asking for parent
volunteers to help the 4th and 5th grade students assemble the lunches on
Friday mornings in May.

We look forward to having another successful Coin Drive and Bagged Lunch
program this year. Thank you for your support!

Sharon Hower and Melissa Scott
STARS for Service Co-Chairs

award-winning doucmentary, HEAD GAMES, about the silent concussion crisis
