UES Coin Drive for the Bagged Lunch Program

Our annual school-wide Coin Drive will take place this year the week of
February 19-22, 2013. This is the first phase of the Bagged Lunch
community service project.
Please send in your coins of any denomination that week. Every little bit
helps! There will be coin buckets in each classroom.

The 3rd grade classes will sort and tally the coins each day. STARS for
Service members from the 5th grade will assist them with this task. The
money collected will enable us to provide approximately 200 healthy
lunches for the homeless and less fortunate in our local area.
Please remember to send in your spare change the week of February 19-22,
2013 with your UES students. In April, we will be asking for parent
volunteers to help the 4th and 5th grade students assemble the lunches on
Friday mornings in May.

We look forward to having another successful Coin Drive and Bagged Lunch
program this year. Thank you for your support!

Sharon Hower and Melissa Scott
STARS for Service Co-Chairs

IMPORTANT! MATH CURRICULUM CHANGES
If you were unable to attend one of the district math meetings, the middle
school is holding a special parent meeting to discuss the changes to the
math program for the 2013/2014 school year. The meeting will focus on the
impact to the middle school math program, HOWEVER, the elementary program
feeds into it, and you will be able to ask non middle school related
questions during Q&A.
The meeting will take place on March 7th at 9:15a.m. in the CFPMS small
cafeteria.

PTO Board members and Committee chairs needed for the 2012-2013 school
year:

Dear UE Families:
The UEPTO Board is currently working on planning ahead for the next school
year.

If you are a current committee chair you will have already been asked to
respond to Dana Mayer with your response as to whether or not you will be
chairing your same event next year, moving on to another event or
graduating from UE. Please make sure to let Dana know your intent as soon
as possible so we can build a list of open committee chair positions. Once
all committee chairs have responded a full list of open positions will be
sent to every family. Please see Dana or any current Board member to
express interest in any chair position we have. Co-chairs can be
accommodated on all positions. Information to follow on open committee
chair positions in the next few weeks.

The UEPTO is also asking for interest to be expressed in being on the
UEPTO Board. Please contact Kim Lauder to express interest in any
position. See below for details.
