Summer Adopt-A-Bed Project
The Patton Project Raised Bed Initiative provides an exciting opportunity
for UCFSD students and their families with their Adopt-A-Bed project!! It
is a fun way to help those who are in need while also working the gardens
with your families and taking home fresh produce. Several years ago, 22
raised beds and a greenhouse were built and we are adding 2 High Tunnels
for even more room for our greens. All were purchased with with grant
monies raised by the FCS department. The beds were just planted, but when
summer comes we will need YOUR help to maintain out entire project, which
enables us to help others 12 months out of the year. Adopt our Garden Beds
for a week or more this summer, help us water, harvest and deliver to the
Food Bank. It is a win-win proposition for all. Work with your families
while helping those who are less fortunate!! For more information please
contact Betsy Ballard or Kim Hisler atbballard@ucfsd.net or
khisler@ucfsd.net.

RISKY BUSINESS: What Are Our Kids Up To These Days?
Thursday, April 18th from 7pm - 9pm
CF Patton Middle School Auditorium
Presented by FOCUS and the UCF Education Foundation

Come hear the results of the recent Pennsylvania Youth Survey of 6th, 8th,
10th, and 12th grade students, and their behavior and knowledge concerning
alcohol, drugs, tobacco, mental health, and bullying. The survey provides
critical information concerning students' use and abuse of these harmful
substances and behaviors. Jacquelyn Taylor, Executive Director of The COAD
Group, and Jim Fulginiti, Asst. Principal of CF Patton, will present the
survey results for both Unionville-Chadds Ford and Chester County students
as compared to PA statewide results. Small group discussions facilitated
by a variety of community professionals will follow and focus on
identifying these risky behaviors and the protective factors that guard
against them.

This program is free, but please reserve a seat by registering at
www.riskybusinessucf.eventbrite.com.
