UE Library Volunteers Needed!
The UE Library is in need of volunteers for the upcoming school year.
Volunteers will assist with shelving returned books, maintaining
bookshelves, assisting students in finding books, processing of new books
into the library, and occasional light clerical work. Volunteers can
choose a two-hour shift, weekly or biweekly. This is a year-long

Girls on the Run – Tuesday and Thursday from 3:30 – 5:00 pm
Girls on the Run is a nationally acclaimed program that combines training
for a 5K run while learning positive life lessons. Twice a week after
school, trained coaches weave lessons about body image, peer pressure and
healthy choices among fun running activities. The program will run from
Sept. 23 – Dec. 7 ending with the Girls on the Run 5K Challenge at
Downingtown West High School on Sunday, Dec. 8. Team size is limited to 15
girls in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade. Registration is currently open. You can

Is your junior or senior taking the SAT this Fall? If so, please consider
the SAT Bootcamp held at Unionville High School Thursday September 26th
from 4-8pm and Saturday September 28th from 9am-1pm. The cost is $165 for
the two day camp, and a portion of that fee go to The Unionville Chadds
Ford Education Foundation to support the Senior Scholarship fund. For more

This is a great way to increase your child's SAT scores in the comfort of

Dear Unionville Elementary School Families
~Welcome back to another great year at UE.
~Just a reminder to join us for our first PTO meeting of the year on
Friday, September 20th at 1:00 PM in the SGI room.
~Join us for coffee, cookies and donuts, great company and an excellent
start to the school year.
~We look forward to talking about what the PTO has planned in the upcoming
months as well as hearing from Mr. Beaver on the results of the Olweus
Bullying Survey.
~Younger children are welcome to attend.

Attention, 3rd, 4th and 5th Graders —~Unionville STARs for Service is
about to begin its fifth year! We will meet each month and work on a
variety of projects that positively affect the UE and local communities.
Come join all the fun while supporting our community! Our first meeting
will be Sept. 17th~after school (when we will clean up the LIVESTRONG
garden) and we plan to meet the third Tuesday of every month after that.
If your child is interested in participating, contact Libby Quillman ([ ] or Laura Winchester ([ ] for
more information, or have your child join us after school on Sept. 17th~to
learn more.

Come and join us for another exciting year of Science Explorers! Our first
club will be a "Magical Mystery Tour" Oct 3, 10, 17, 24, and Nov 7. We
will reveal a rainbow of colors in our acid and base lab, mix up an
endothermic reaction to create a "matter monster," learn about jumping
electrons, conduct experiments on mystery powders, disappearing crystals
and magic sand. Look for sign up information in September. For more

The UEPTO is honored once again to be asked to work with the Unionville
Community Fair and co Sponsor the ever popular Cow Pie Bingo Ticket
Your ticket purchase helps support not only our school but several Chester
County organizations. A portion of the Cow Pie Bingo ticket sales will go
to support Chester County Food Bank, The Barn at Springbrook Farm, The
Unionville Community Scholarship Fund, Po Mar Lin Fire Company, Longwood
Fire Company and the fair itself so we can continue to enjoy the fair
without entrance fees.~
As partners in this program we are asking that every UE family sell at
least 5 tickets to support this cause, our school and these wonderful
organizations that the Unionville Community Fair supports!~
