Hillendale Elementary's Con-SERVE-ationVolunteer Day

Volunteers need to plant 600 trees!!! Saturday, October 12, 2013 from
9:0012:00

Hillendale, in a partnership with Pennsbury Township, the Brandywine
Conservancy & the Pennsbury
Land Trust, will be planting 600 trees. To sign up, please contact Steve

There will be a GIRLS BASKETBALL CLINIC held on Saturday morning, November
16, at
Unionville High School. The clinic is for girls in grades 3-8 and is being
run by the new UHS Women's
Basketball Coach, Deb Robledo, and the UHS women's basketball team. The
cost of $25 includes a
FREE TICKET to an upcoming UHS women's basketball game. Details and

"One Book One Unionville" Author Event and Book Signing!
Join us for an evening of conversation with The Queen of Water author
Laura Resau.
When: Wednesday, October 16 at 7:00 pm
Where: Unionville High School
750 Unionville Rd, Kennett Square, PA 19348
Cost: Free
Based on the life of Maria Virginia Farinango, Resau's The Queen of Water
recounts the fortitude
and resilience of an Ecuadorian child slave.
The book provides a startling glimpse into Ecuadorian class structure and
one child's attempts to
transcend her circumstances. Bring your questions and comments to share
with the author on
this evening of community conversation.

Girls on the Run – Tuesday and Thursday from 3:30 – 5:00 pm
Girls on the Run is a nationally acclaimed program that combines training
for a 5K run while
learning positive life lessons. Twice a week after school, trained coaches
weave lessons about
body image, peer pressure and healthy choices among fun running
activities. The program will
run from Sept. 23 – Dec. 7 ending with the Girls on the Run 5K Challenge
at Downingtown West
High School on Sunday, Dec. 8. Team size is limited to 15 girls in 3rd,
4th, and 5th grade.
Registration is currently open. You can contact your local Y to register

Is your junior or senior taking the SAT this Fall? If so, please consider
the SAT Bootcamp held at
Unionville High School Thursday September 26th from 4-8pm and Saturday
September 28th from 9am-1pm.
The cost is $165 for the two day camp, and a portion of that fee will go
to The
Unionville Chadds Ford Education Foundation to support the Senior
Scholarship fund. For
