KAU Challenger Team needs players!
KAU Little League will sponsor a Challenger League Team again for the 2013
season. The Challenger League is open to boys and girls with physical and
mental challenges, ages 4-18, or up to age 22 if still enrolled in high
school.

The KAU team plays an 8- or 9-game schedule against other Challenger teams
from the area. All home games are played Sundays at 1 p.m. at the Stoney
Marston Complex off Route 82 in Kennett Square. Teams can include as many
as 15 to 20 players. Challenger games can be played as t-ball games, coach
pitch, player pitch, or a combination of the three depending on the
ability of the players. The Challenger Division encourages the use of
"buddies" for the Challenger players. The buddies assist the Challenger
players on the field, but whenever possible, encourage the players to bat
and make plays themselves. However, the buddy is always nearby to help
when needed.

Unionville Elementary 2013 Art in Action
UE's Art in Action program kicks off this coming Friday, January 25 at
10:30 a.m. with a short talk by local artist Lele Galer in the SGI room at
Unionville Elementary. Art in Action gives our children a deeper knowledge
and appreciation for the art that surrounds them. Our topic this year is
the History of Photography and if you've never heard Lele speak, you're in
for a treat. This program is a super fun way to volunteer with your kids
in K through 5th. UE's Art in Action will take place this year in February
and you can give just one hour--or more--the choice is your's! At the very
least, come and learn a little more about photography and find out how we
then pass that on to our kids. Refreshments served and small children are
welcome. Questions, contact Amy Kramer @ amykramer13@comcast.net.
