For Your Information

This afternoon there was an emergency situation in a sub-division in
Birmingham Township. At the request of law enforcement the district
re-routed bus runs to avoid the area. Families directly impacted by the
incident were called by school officals. Though some busses were briefly
delayed all students arrived home safely. We do not anticipate any impact
to school or transportation for tomorrow.

PTO Board members and Committee chairs needed for the 2012-2013 school
year:

Dear UE Families:
The UEPTO Board is currently working on planning ahead for the next school
year.

If you are a current committee chair you will have already been asked to
respond to Dana Mayer with your response as to whether or not you will be
chairing your same event next year, moving on to another event or
graduating from UE. Please make sure to let Dana know your intent as soon
as possible so we can build a list of open committee chair positions. Once
all committee chairs have responded a full list of open positions will be
sent to every family. Please see Dana or any current Board member to
express interest in any chair position we have. Co-chairs can be
accommodated on all positions. Information to follow on open committee
chair positions in the next few weeks.

The UEPTO is also asking for interest to be expressed in being on the
UEPTO Board. Please contact Kim Lauder to express interest in any
position. See below for details.

IMPORTANT CRIME AND SAFETY ALERT

Relayed through the Unionville-Chadds Ford School District...

March1, 2013

East / West Marlborough Residents:

This past week during the overnight hours, there have been numerous thefts
of metal storm grates from roadways in surrounding Townships. The grates
weigh between 100 – 200 lbs and would require at least 2 people to lift
them from the culverts they sit in.

It is suspected that the thieves are selling the grates to a scrap metal
yard to obtain money. Scrap yards have been notified of the situation. An
active investigation involving local and state police is being conducted.

The cost of replacing the grates is the responsibility of the Township,
however the larger issue is the potential hazard that this crime leaves
behind. The storm drains that the grates cover can be anywhere between 10 –
20 feet deep.

An unsuspecting innocent child, bicyclist, pedestrian, jogger or motorist
could fall into the storm drain and suffer serious injury or death.

I am asking that you have a heightened sense of suspicion. If you see
anyone around any of the storm drains that is not your Township road
department or Penn Dot call 911 and report the activity immediately. Write
down a description of the persons you see as well as vehicle information.

Thank you for your assistance.

If you have any questions, comments or concerns please do not hesitate to
contact me. Stay Safe
