Next PTO meeting is OCT 24, 9:15am

PLease join us, John Sanville will be present to discuss redistricting of the UCFSD elementary schools.

All in attandance will also vote on the enrichment projects the PTO funds will support this year.

Hope to see you all there.

With 97% participation from our school families in the Boosterthon, we exceeded expectations by raising $16,000!   We are in awe at what a success the Boosterthon Fun Run was. Historically, the UEPTO raises approximately $6,000 each year via our Booster Drive, with 20-30% participation from school families.  Due to the phenomenal success of the Boosterthon Fun Run, the PTO will be able to drastically reduce the number of fundraisers this year.

This would not have been possible without the support of the teachers, Mr. Beaver, the administrative staff, and parent volunteers.

The Boosterthon team did an outstanding job! They spent 9 full days in our school and provided administrative support for 2 weeks following the run. In total we had 28 assemblies for our school children, in eight of the nine days.

This is what it looked like each day:

  • DAY ONE kicked off with a Pep Rally in the gym

  • DAYS TWO thru EIGHT, the students received community challenge lessons (small group huddles at recess with the Boosterthon coaches) and fun school rewards

  • DAY NINE, Fun Run Day! The Boosterthon Team set up all the obastacles, tents, and water stations

Coach Dave was an awesome MC at the Fun Run and great music kept the kids pumped to complete the challenge after they all made a grand entrance through the tunnel.

This is what your children learned during the small group huddles from the Boosterthon team:

5 community Challenges

  •  Plug in To serve – serving others means putting someone else's needs in front of your own. Volunteering in community and serving family by asking how can you help them.
  •  Amplify Others-  having the power to make others stronger with our words. Use positive words and max them out like a meter.
  • Listen for feedback –Parents and teachers have great feedback. Helpful advice gives us the opportunity to grow and be better people.
  • Play Hard- in whatever we play,(sports, instrument, the arts) it is important to spend 60 minutes a day improving skills, playing hard and staying healthy.
  • Thank your crowd- our biggest fans are our parents and teachers. Say THANK YOU. Showing gratitude is a sign of community.

Thank you to the school families, their relatives and friends, and the teachers and school staff who all donated to this program to make it such a huge achievement.
