KAU Challenger Team needs players!

KAU Little League will sponsor a Challenger League Team again for the 2014
season. The Challenger League is open to boys and girls with physical and
mental challenges, ages 4-18, or up to age 22 if still enrolled in high
school. The KAU team plays an 8- or 9-game schedule against other
Challenger teams from the area. All home games are played Sundays at 1
p.m. at the Stoney Marston Complex off Route 82 in Kennett Square. Teams
can include as many as 15 to 20 players. Challenger games can be played as
t-ball games, coach pitch, player pitch, or a combination of the three
depending on the ability of the players. The Challenger Division encourages
the use of "buddies" for the Challenger players. The buddies
assist the Challenger players on the field, but whenever possible,
encourage the players to bat and make plays themselves. However, the buddy
is always nearby to help when needed. For more information on the KAU team,
please e-mail cherylmri@verizon.net.

for boys in 3rd to 5th grades!

Unionville Elementary

Tuesday/Thursday 3:30-4:45

STRIDE is a FUN and exciting fitness and running program for boys in 3rd to

in all aspects of their lives, make healthy choices, and build confidence
by leading them with a curriculum that incorporates discussion, team
building activities, games and fun running workouts that build endurance so
the boys can successfully complete a 5k at the end of the season. Teams
meet twice a week for 75 minutes, and are led by trained coaches.
Throughout the program, the focus is on doing one's personal best, not
competing with each other. The boys learn the importance of making good
decisions, being a good friend, working as a team, setting goals and
working to achieve them.

The 10 week program starts the week of March 10 and ends May 31.
