PTO Committee Chairs Needed for the 2014-2015 School Year

Looking for a way to become involved at UE? Please consider becoming a
committee chair for the next year! It is a very rewarding experience! Thank
you so much for your consideration.

The committee chair openings with the highest priority and that absolutely
need to be filled include:

• Art In Action- One or two chairs needed to run winter Art In action
project across all grades. Art projects involves working with students on
both teaching and hands on component of the project with assistance from
parent volunteers and art teacher.

• Beautification- one or two chairs responsible for the beautification
and maintenance of the decorative planters around the school entrances and
lobby throughout the year.

• Family Fun Night- co-chair needed to help plan one or two events per
school year. UE families will get together with their school spirit doing
fun things in cooperation with help from our principal and teachers

• 5th Grade Celebration- organizing end of year 5th grade event
coordinating with other elementary schools.

• 5th Grade Leave Behind Art- Create and install a leave behind project
with the graduating 5th grade class. Art teacher will help.

• Market Day- One additional co-chair needed to help run the Market Day
Program. Chairpersons process orders and handle distribution in the evening
each month. One co-chair is in place but we would love to have one more.

• Partners Program/UES Shirts- One or two co- chairs needed to match new
UE Families with existing UE families to provide a resource for any
questions incoming families may have. Distribution of UE shirts and
coordination of one or two social events for new families. Time commitment
is before and shortly after school begins.

• 3rd Grade Read-a-thon- Need 3 chairs to plan and implement 3rd grade
Read-a-thon. Time commitment mostly in the beginning of the year leading up
to the big event in March.

• Volunteer Coordinator- coordinate list of parent volunteers to help
with events at UE. Provide committee chairs with this list of volunteers.
Very simple, easy to do from home.

• Escrips- Manage UE rewards programs with Giant Food Stores, Target and
Superfresh.

• Bus Passes- Manage bus pass distribution for the Back to School packet

• K-2 Reading Night- need 2 or 3 co-chairs to help coordinate the
Kindergarten thru 2nd grade reading night. Fun event to be a part of.

Need Volunteers to Hang Art for Art Show

Each year Mrs. McQuillan creates an art show of the UE students' artwork to
be viewed during the Spring Open House. This sign-up is to help with the
hanging of the art in the school hallway areas. This is an easy and fun
way to be involved at the school.

We will be hanging art on Tuesday, May 13th, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.

I have created 8 two-hour slots, but feel free to come when you can between
9:00 and 1:00 (and stay as long as you are able).

The more hands we have to help – the faster the job will go.

with science and is a great way to build self-esteem. Although projects are
