ART IN ACTION

Each year students at Unionville Elementary contribute to a community art project that is then displayed in the halls of our school. The Art in Action program is made possible by local artist Lele Galer, who visits all Unionville elementary schools each year to teach parent volunteers about the year's theme for the Art in Action project. This year's theme will be portraits. For those parents interested in volunteering to help with the Art in Action project this year, a presentation and information session will be held on October 6th at 9:15 in the SGI at UE. Please RSVP to Kim Collison at kimcollison@verizon.net if you will attend. If you are interested in volunteering and are unable to attend this session, please contact Kim for information on sessions available at other UCFSD elementary schools.

The SignUpGenius is available for those parents who know they wish to volunteer to lead a classroom discussion. The classroom discussions will be held October 10th through October 17th in each class's art class period. CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP

Boy's Lacrosse Clinic

The Unionville Boys' Lacrosse Boosters will be hosting a fall boys' youth lacrosse clinic on Monday, October 13th from 2-5pm.  The clinic will be run by Varsity Head Coach Noel Breger and his team members and is open to boys in grades 1-8. October 13th is a school holiday, so here's something your son can do for a few hours in the afternoon! The cost is $25/person plus a canned good donation to the Kennett Food Bank. Players will be divided by age group and will go thru various skills and drills sessions during the 3 hour period.  The clinic will culminate with a King of the Can tournament! If your child will be participating in the clinic, please email uhslacrosse@comcast.net and note child's name, age, position played, and number of years played.

Registration Form is here  and should be emailed/mailed per the instructions on the form. Come and join us and brush up on your skills before it gets too cold to be on the field!

Square 1 Art

This fundraiser celebrates your child's artwork by featuring it on useful products and cherished keepsakes that make great gifts. Our students have been busy in art class creating their masterpieces! STAR NEWS BLAST

Parents,

Thank you for supporting this year's Boosterthon Fun Run! This is our MAJOR fundraiser for the fall semester! We are halfway through the program and the Boosterthon Fun Run event is quickly approaching. As an entire school we are almost to our next prize level! We still need your help!

The students are having a blast learning about COMMUNITY through the Rock'n Town Live theme! So far this week, we learned about how as a community we must Plug In To Serve putting other's needs in front of our own, and we learned how important it is to AMPLIFY OTHERS, because we have the power to make others stronger with our words.

Here's how you can help:

  • REGISTER YOUR STUDENT TO RUN - Please register your child on funrun.com using our class access code. Students receive a FREE GIFT just by having their parent or guardian register them on funrun.com.
  • GET PLEDGES by connecting your student with 10 sponsors. Funrun.com has many ways to use social media in the pledging process and pay online. Be sure to capture and record the e-mail address of each sponsor, as they will have an easy opportunity to pay for your student's pledge by credit card online.
  • COME TO THE BOOSTERTHON FUN RUN NEXT WEEK! Remember, students will be running 30-35 laps, and we would love to have lots of support for our team!

This weekend is a special challenge—the "Weekend Challenge." ANY student who gets $3 per lap OR $90 flat donation over the weekend will get to PIE A BOOSTERTHON TEAM MEMBER IN THE FACE at the Fun Run next week! The students are super excited to rise to the challenge! We are excited to see how many pies we can get at the Fun Run!

Thanks again for your help and supporting our school! Let's work together to finish strong and reach our goal as a team! I'll see you at the Boosterthon Fun Run event next week!

Have a great weekend!
