FROM THE PTO DESK
Hello, again!  I feel like I just wrote the October letter, and here we are at the beginning of November. First and foremost, we would like to welcome John Nolan, as UE's interim principal, until Dr. Lafferty returns in January.  We are so thankful to have someone with experience, and who is as invested in UE as we are.
This past month has been a busy one.  Boosterthon, Family Fun Night and our first couple's comedy night were all great ways to bring our school community together.  Thank you to everyone who helped to make these events a success, especially Jenny Moyer, Liz Hunt and Pocopson Vet Station.
Hopefully you all received a PTO folder.  If you did not, please let the office know.  Keep this folder while you have children attending UE.  Each family will get one folder, and each year you can use this folder to keep all of your school information.  This is a one stop shop to find PTO dates and resources, so that you always know the events going on at the school.  Hopefully it will be helpful to you!
We have lots more coming up this month, so mark your calendars now! On November 11, our school will be having a Veteran's Day Celebration. This is a very special day for our students to be able to acknowledge the veteran's in their lives.  All are welcome to attend this beautiful tribute.  Picture retakes will be on November 17, so get those smiles ready!  Friday, November 20th, UE will be hosting a holiday play, "A Christmas Carol".  The show will begin promptly at 7 pm, and is about an hour long.  Get your tickets now. For more information on any PTO events, please visit Star News on the school website.
Please join us for our next PTO meeting, on November 20th, at 9:30.  John Sanville will be visiting.  As always your thoughts, time and support are always appreciated.

UES 1st Annual Socktober socks.png

Did you know that shelters and charities that support homeless and/or needy families in our area are in great need of new socks? Each year at this time shelters receive all kinds of great donations (coats, boots etc…) but socks are often forgotten and do not get donated.

Here at UE, we are working to help the kids think about kindness. A simple act such as donating a new package of socks can go a long way to help others.
Please consider donating any size (infant to adult), new socks to help us celebrate what we are now calling "Socktober".

There will be laundry baskets located throughout the building for the socks to be dropped into.

We will collect new socks from now until the first week of November. Thank you for your help!
