If your house is anything like mine, you know it is December when your children are belting out their holiday concert songs all day and night!  It is such an exciting time of the year, and UE is a busy place!  Thank you to all who came out to the play, "A Christmas Carol".  The show was wonderful!  We hope to bring a professional theater troupe like this to UE at least once a year, so be on the lookout for future shows.  This one really put viewers in the holiday spirit!

Our first PTO sponsored activity this month is our annual Elves Workshop, on December 3rd, from 3:30-4:30pm.  Parent volunteers have been working very hard to organize this fun afternoon of crafting. There are quite a few activities to pick from that would be perfect gifts for those special people in your lives.  There is also a district wide coat drive going on until December 17th.  Gently used items can be dropped off in the lobbies of any of the UCF district schools.  We are looking for two volunteers to help with this annual drive.  If you are interested, contact Katie Nichols at  Stars for Service also has a food drive this month.  Canned and packaged foods can also be dropped off in the school lobby until December 15th.  This will be donated, along with twenty pounds of salad, turnips and radishes grown in our new UE garden, to the Kennett Food Bank.  We would also like to ask that you submit any pictures that you have for the yearbook.  The upcoming concerts and events are a great time to capture these memories.  For information on these, or any other PTO events, see Star News.

For those of you interested in being a part of the PTO Board, there are some positions that will be open for the 2016/17 school year.  It seems early, but we like to have the new board in place early in 2016.  The following positions are open: Director of Assemblies, Director of Enrichment, Director of Website, and Director of Communications. We would also like to have two members at large, who are non-voting board positions who have intent of taking a board position the following year.  It is a great way to see what being on the board is all about.  If you have interest in any of these positions, please contact Michelle Reichert or Megan Cromer.  We will not have a PTO meeting this month, so enjoy the holidays and we look forward to seeing you in January!

The Stars for Service Holiday Food Drive Has Begun!
The Kennett Food Cupboard is in need of food for the holiday season and the Stars for Service are pitching in to help our community.
Please help by donating canned and packaged food.
Food can be dropped off in the marked boxes in the lobby and pick up area until December 15.
Thank you for your support!

UCFSD Community Service gives away gently used warm coats, fleece jackets, hats, mittens/gloves and snow pants to local families in need. Donated items can be dropped off in the lobbies of any of the UCF district schools now until Thursday 12/17.  Items should be clean and in good condition. All styles and sizes are needed. New items are also gladly accepted!

***One or two parent volunteers from Unionville Elementary are needed to help w/ the annual District-wide coat drive. ***

We would really like to get someone from UE involved in the Coat Drive. The Coat Drive has already begun and a box was placed in the UE lobby a few weeks ago. This would involve picking up the coats from UE when the box gets full, storing and sorting the coats by size and delivering the coats to the Event on Friday December 18 for sorting. Hundreds of families benefit from this effort any help you can provide us would be greatly appreciated!!
