WELCOME TO ALL NEW AND EXISTING FAMILIES!

MEET OUR NEW PRINCIPAL

Greetings Parents and Students!

I am extremely happy to be at Unionville Elementary School as we start this new

school year. Over the last several weeks I have had the pleasure of meeting many of

you and I am looking forward to meeting the rest of you soon.

I have worked as an educator for thirty-seven years. Twenty-seven of those

years have been as a principal in several local districts. My family and I have lived in the

area for over thirty-five years. My wife, Mary Ann, and I have four grown children,

Kristen, Melissa, Jason and Colin. (I am always happy to talk about my kids and our

granddaughter, Avery, so feel free to stop in if you ever have a free minute.)

Hopefully you have had an opportunity to rest and relax over the summer and are

now ready to get back to work! This will be an exciting year at Unionville Elementary

School and I am excited to be sharing it with you.

Dr. Edward J. Mackel

DID YOU REMEMBER TO...?

  • Register your students in the district portal (dont forget to click on the box to be added to the district directory)
  •  Send in $8 and completed form for the district directory
  • Read  the PTO welcome letter and add future dates to your calendar

THANK YOU

  • Dawn Talley for making school flags for our offices and classrooms.
  • Marybeth Mcmunn for making UE look so beautiful with planters full of flowers and stars. Our main entrance looks amazing! Parents please take the time to look at our main entrance decorations and inspirational words.
  • Becky Bondi & Liz Hunt for organizing such a great welcome back for all of the UE families. Mrs. Bondi also organized the distribution of UE shirts to our new students.

Unionville Elementary is lucky to have wonderful parents in our community that care.

VOLUNTEER CLEARANCES

The rules regarding volunteers in the school have been updated:

  • If a family member was already a recognized volunteer last year then they will not have to do anything new until July of next year (2016)
  • Beginning in July of 2016 all volunteers will need 2 PA clearances, but PA will pick up the cost.
  • Also beginning in July of 2016 all volunteers who have lived in PA less than 10 years will require a Federal clearance with fingerprinting.
