UE Community,

Fall is surely in the air all of a sudden, and UE is buzzing with activities! The PTO is in full swing and our first meeting was a great success. Our direct donation drive has officially come to an end. A huge thank you to those who donated. We will be able to do some amazing things with the money raised. In Star News this month, you will see some other indirect giving options that can bring in significant funds for our school.  Please take the time to sign up for these. Every little bit helps, and they are really easy ways for us to make some money without costing you a dime . If you have not had the opportunity to sign up to help with any PTO events, there is a list of committee chairs on the PTO website. Please don't hesitate to contact any of them.

During the month of October, we have a lot of days off,  and a lot of events scheduled, so put them on your calendar now. Read full letter from the PTO President at this link.

- Megan Cromer, President, UE PTO

Coin Drive for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service

 "Calling all Quarters!

Calling all Dimes!

All Nickels and Pennies!

It's helping out time!"

Calling all UE Stars! This January, our school will be taking part in the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service in a new way. All of our UE kids are invited to participate in our project: "Blankets for Buddies." The students will be coming together to make special fleece blankets that will be donated to kids with long term illnesses at AI Dupont Hospital. But first, we need to raise some "coin" to purchase the materials we will use to make the blankets. So we're having a coin drive contest amongst the classes! There will be three collection periods, and at the end of each, there's a cool prize for the class that has collected the most coins. Please see the flyer that came home with your student for all the details and start sending in those quarters, dimes, nickels and pennies!

Any parents with questions or a desire to pitch in, please contact Micki Tilley or Jackie Knight.

Books Ahoy!

Come join us at the UE fall "Bookaneer" Book Fair. October 19th-21st.
We will need volunteers to make the book fair a success. Sign-up Genius coming soon!
