JUNE
7       FIELD DAY
13    5TH GRADE RISING STAR CELEBRATION, 3:30-4:45PM

FROM THE PTO DESK...

Well, we have almost made it! The last few weeks of school are always jammed packed with activities, and I would like to thank all UE families for their support in making them memorable. Very soon the kiddos are all yours for the summer! We hope that it is a time for your family to create wonderful memories of your own, and to savor your time together (and by August, I am sure we will all be looking forward to their return to the amazing teachers and staff here at UE). Thank you so much for all of your time and dedication to the numerous PTO events that were held throughout this school year. We truly could not have done it without you. See below some special events still taking place, and mark them on your calendars now (there are only a couple, I promise!).

Volunteers are needed for Field Day, so please take a look at the Sign-Up to see if you can help in any way.

A special thanks to the PTO Board Members who will be stepping down this year, Michelle Reichert, Dana Mayer, Jacqui Detweiler, Stacey Angstadt, and Amy Kidd-Suplick. You are all talented, giving, generous and dedicated, and without you, this year would not have been the great success it has been. We would also like to bid a heartfelt farewell to those families who will be leaving us this year, whether it be to a new elementary school, or having your child go off to middle school. We hope that your time at UE has been a wonderful experience, and that you come back to visit often. And last but not least, a huge thank you to the teachers and staff at UE. You make our school a place that students want to come every day, and welcome parents with open arms. We appreciate your hard work and dedication, and hope you enjoy a much deserved summer break!

End of the year events:

Tuesday, June 7 th : Field Day

Tuesday, June 14 th : UE Night at the Blue Rocks

Wednesday, June 15 th : Last Day of School (half day)

Enjoy your summer!

-Meg Cromer, UEPTO Co-President

Dear UE Community:

We are writing today to ask you to join us in celebrating and thanking Mrs. Michelle Reichert as she concludes her outstanding service as the UEPTO President in her fifth and final year of UEPTO Board service.

Under Mrs. Reichert's leadership, the UEPTO has accomplished tremendous strengthening of the UE community and spirit.  Mrs. Reichert spearheaded the highly successful UEPTO Fashion Shows, which over three years raised more than $35,000 collectively.  Additionally, Mrs. Reichert personally oversaw the implementation of the Boosterthon Fun Runs, which have raised over $25,000 collectively in two years.  Concurrently, Mrs. Reichert and the UEPTO Board upheld long-standing PTO programs such as Family Fun Night, Bingo Night and the Third Grade Book Celebration while increasing enrichment spending to over $30,000 in the last two years alone—making possible the gymnasium Rock Wall, new auditorium lighting, specialized rocker chairs, additional classroom books, supplemental materials for math, science and social studies curricula, teacher enrichment requests, student assemblies and more!  Mrs. Reichert's leadership positioned the UEPTO in the firmest possible financial standing while making possible remarkable educational enrichment opportunities for UE students and teachers alike.

While the facts and figures underscore Mrs. Reichert's effectiveness as UEPTO President, her warm personal connections and endless outreach and graciousness toward all will remain in our hearts and minds for years as we remember her tenure.  Mrs. Reichert espouses the belief that the UEPTO is the parent representative arm of the educational community that surrounds our children, and she sought in all she did to strengthen and accurately represent the parent perspective for the betterment of the UE school community.  She did so lovingly and selflessly, and we are very grateful.

Will you please join us in extending thanks to Mrs. Reichert?  Will you click here to send her a brief personal message of thanks or thanking her in person the next time you next see her?

Mrs. Reichert, or, as many of us know her, Michelle, reminds us daily to "smile," and "challenge yourself," and to "be the change you wish to see."  Let us take to heart her words of wisdom, and seek in all we do to be the best parents – and people – we can be.

We also extend a warm welcome to Meg Cromer, experienced board member, as the 2016-2017 UE PTO President. Amongst her extensive contributions to the UEPTO, was the new, very successful and fun spring event, "Designer Bag Bingo".

In addition, we present the newly elected board members for the 2016-2017 school year.

  • President: Meg Cromer
  • Vice President: Kristen Young
  • Treasurer: Ed Oexner
  • Secretary: Micki Tilley
  • Assemblies: Linda Brown
  • Enrichment: Christine Gregori
  • Director of Website: Sunanda Aurora
  • Director of Communications: Kate Tomasco
  • Director of Committees: Jenny Moyer

Gratefully,

The outgoing 2015-2016 UEPTO Board Members
