The new school year has arrived! Teachers, students, and parents alike are excited to start another wonderful year at UE. Star News will be sent out weekly to keep everyone in the UE community informed about upcoming events throughout the year. Please read the PTO Welcome Letter here. Enjoy those "First Day of School" moments!
PTO Direct Donation Program
In order to continue providing materials and services that the PTO provides to our students, we are asking for direct contributions to be made to the school from each family. We are asking for all families, who are able, to be generous, and to contribute a suggested amount of $50 per child attending UE. More, of course, is welcome, and no amount is too little. The direct donation program is in response to parental input about not wanting to sell a variety of items throughout the school year. 100% of your donation will go to our school.
Please fill out the Direct Donation Request Form in your back-to-school mailing or at the link below, and return it to school with your tax-deductible donation.
We thank you in advance for helping us in our fundraising efforts.
In your back-to-school mailing and at the link below, we have also included a list of ways you can get involved in PTO-related activities Check off any that are of interest to you, and return these forms to the school’s main office, attention UEPTO, by September 1st.
The PTO is looking to fill some chair/co-chair positions for the 2017/18 school year. Please check the sign-up and put your name next to any event that you are interested in chairing. We depend greatly on volunteers, so if no one signs up to run these programs, we will not have them for the upcoming school year. If you are able, please consider chairing or co-chairing a committee.
The job of homeroom parent varies from classroom to classroom, but the main job is to be the liaison between the parents and the teacher. The homeroom parent is not to “do everything," but to recruit other parents in the class to support the teacher with activities a teacher cannot do on his or her own, such as field trips and class parties. It is a great way to meet the children in your child’s class, as well as other parents, and to be involved in your child’s education. If you are interested in being a homeroom parent for your child’s class (we need at least one, preferably two for each classroom), please notify Heather Biddle, by Monday, August 28th, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
