Happy Fall! What a way to start the season! Our Fall Festival was a huge success. The PTO would like to THANK all the parents and teachers who took time out of their busy Saturday to help run this event. We had a beautiful day full of games, donuts, and community fun; not to mention we raised over 3,000 dollars. We will be able to do some amazing things for our students and teachers with money raised from this event.
We also would like to THANK all who donated to the direction donation program. We just about matched last year's dollars. Remember all donations from our direction donation program, 100% of the money, will go directly to the PTO, giving so much back to our children and teachers.
The PTO is in full swing and our first meeting was a great success; we had an amazing attendance. Thank you to everyone for coming. Keep up with Star News this month. You will see some other indirect giving options that can bring in significant funds for our school. Please take the time to sign up for these. Every little bit helps, and they are really easy ways for us to make some money without costing you a dime. If you have not had the opportunity to sign up to help with any PTO events, there is a list of committee chairs on the PTO website. Please don't hesitate to contact any of them.
The Unionville Community Fair will be starting 10/6/2017. Please take time out of your weekend to support the Fair. We are extremely lucky to have a local fair supporting our farmers and fire departments, as well as, the Kennett Cupboard. See below for different links. The Denim and Diamond Gala kicks off on Thursday, 10/5. Do you have amazing crafts, paintings, and Lego creations? If so, enter them into the fair on Wednesday, 10/4. This is such a fun activity for the children.
During the month of October, we have many days off, and many events scheduled, so put them in your calendar now. We are beginning this month to prepare for the MLK Day of Service. UE will be working with Cuddles for Chemo and making blankets for children undergoing treatment at Nemours/A.I. duPont Hospital for Children. Throughout the month of October, we will have a coin drive to raise money to buy the fleece. Start looking under those cushions and let's help our children see how good it feels to help others.

URA Basketball Registration Closing Soon
URA Basketball is open to all Boys and Girls Grades K-12. URA Basketball is a recreational program - everyone makes a team, no one gets cut. The season begins in Mid-November, games will start in early December and will end just prior to Spring Break.
Time commitment is dependent on overall program registrations. Last season, games were played on Saturday or Sunday depending on division with practices held during the week. Teams typically practice 1 night per week. The boys 10-12 grade division plays games only.
Last season, URA Basketball eclipsed 1200 participants. This season, due to space limitations, registrations in each division will be limited. Please register early to reserve your space.
When registering, please verify the division you are registering for and the school grade effective Fall 2017 for your child is accurate! Players are placed into divisions by their school grade.
As always, girls are welcomed to register for "Boys" divisions. We have had a number of girls do so in the past. Additionally, if you feel your child would benefit from "playing up" to a higher grade level, feel free to register as such.
Costs: K-1 = $75 per player All other grades - $130 per player (registered players after 2 per family are free)
Please do not make coach or team placement requests at this time! Please use this link to register online for the 2017/2018 Season.
