iGen Book discussion & Author Visit
The UCFSD Wellness Committee is working to create awareness and conversation around the topic of the "iGen" generation. With social media and texting replacing other activities, iGen spends less time with their friends in person—perhaps why they are experiencing unprecedented levels of anxiety, depression, and loneliness. A highly readable and entertaining first look at how today’s members of iGen—the children, teens, and young adults born in the mid-1990s and later—are vastly different from their Millennial predecessors, and from any other generation, from the renowned psychologist and author of Generation Me. Learn more about Dr Twenge and iGen here. Copies of the book can be found on Amazon. SAVE THE DATE - Dr. Twenge will be visiting UCFSD April 12-13, 2018.

School Store Fundraiser
If you have not signed up to participate in our School Store fundraiser, please do as soon as possible. The program runs all year long, and holiday shopping is the easiest way for us to raise money for the PTO at no expense to you!!! So far we have brought in over $1000 cash for the PTO, and over $11,000 in gift cards for the teachers to use for classroom supplies and resources.
Gift cards are delivered to the school monthly. A change this year, is that gift cards will be given directly to the child's assigned homeroom teacher, unless otherwise requested. If you would like your gift cards sent home so that you can choose the teacher to receive it (special areas/special education teacher/classroom aides/Dr. Lafferty/support staff) or use it for a holiday gift, please email Megan Cromer (firstname.lastname@example.org) ASAP, and she will send them home with your child when the gift card arrives.
