FROM THE PTO DESK...

A Message from the PTO President

Is anybody else out there ready for Spring? Hopefully you escaped the dreaded stomach bug (we did not), and other winter ailments (we did not escape those either), that have been running through our community. I say bring on a huge snowstorm, or bring on the warm weather! On the bright side, we have not had any snow days yet that we will have to make up at the end of the year, either! I hope I am not jinxing us by saying that!

In January we hit the ground running, and we are gearing up for a busy second half of the year. Please refer to the PTO calendar on the website for upcoming events, and if there is anything you would like to volunteer to help with, please don't hesitate to e-mail me at uespto@ucfsd.net.  It is not too late to join in!

There are some very important happenings at the upcoming PTO meetings, so we hope to see lots of you there. In February, we will be voting on teacher enrichment requests. The PTO funds these requests, so if you would like a say in where a large portion of your donations go, this would be a great meeting to attend. We are also looking to fill PTO Board postitions for the 2016/17 school year. If you have interest, please let me know ASAP. I need to know all interested candidates by March 8th. If you are a working parent, there are postitions available that would suit you as well. We also have Members at Large positions, if you would just like to see what it is all about. Please contact me for more information.

We are hoping to have another
evening PTO meeting in March, at the request of working parents. Most likely the meeting would be on Thursday, March 16th. This would be in place of our monthly Friday morning meeting. Please e-mail to let me know if you plan attending so we can see if there is enough interest.

And as always...take LOTS of pictures and be sure to upload them to the yearbook!!!!!!

Megan Cromer

Many Thanks...

We would like to take a minute to thank those who helped with our January events:

MLK Day of Service: Micki Tilley, Jackie Knight, Kendall Warren, committee members, teachers and staff; Be Fit Assembly, Hands on House (Senses Safari: Kindergarten) and Otto the Auto Assembly: Linda Brown; Family BINGO Night: Jenny Moyer and Hillary Fordyce.

There are lots of moving parts in this operation and we could not do it without our volunteers. And, if we missed anyone, please know we are thankful for all that you do.

Where Did your PTO Dollars go in January?

Be Fit Assembly, MLK Day refreshments, Family BINGO Night prizes, supplies and refreshments, Hands on House (Senses Safari)

No Pokemon Cards Allowed at School

Dr. Lafferty has asked us to remind all students that Pokemon cards are not allowed at school. Please be sure your child does not have any in his or her backpack. Thank you for your cooperation.
